Successful Ascent Projects include:
Re-Roofing Consultation: Ascent was retained to conduct an inspection of an installed System just prior to a scheduled re-roof. After advising our Client of impending issues, we worked ahead of and with the Roofing contractor to cost effectively and efficiently resolve concerns and allow for appropriate waterproofing of Anchors.
Audit Inspections: As a result of Ascent field site reviews and in-depth reports, our Technical Audit Inspections have resulted in upgrades and/or repairs to newly-installed Window Washing / Suspended Access Systems at no extra charge to the Building Owners under the TARION Warranty program.
Existing Systems Overview: A Client engaged the services of Ascent to provide a 2nd opinion as part of a purchase agreement for a newly acquired building. They were pleasantly surprised to learn the System was in fact NOT up to current code allowing our Client to renegotiate purchase price.
Davit System Upgrades: Ascent was brought in to review rigging procedures as a consequence of an MOL Compliance Order. It was found that, despite a regular annual inspection by others, on-site portable equipment was in a very poor state of repair due to age and neglect and could no longer be safely employed. We advised our client as to their best course of action and prepared the necessary documentation, and, after seeking competitive Bids for upgrades, their 25 year old Davit System was fully refurbished and received Ministry of Labour approval. This System should now be good to service their needs for another 25 years.
As Safety Experts, we fully scrutinize all existing conditions that affect System performance, particularly when dealing with Davits and portable equipment Systems, and this Project required more than just ‘parts’ to correct deficiencies. Not only did our client save a great deal in unnecessary expenses by following our direction, a potentially serious Davit failure was also averted.
